Gender and Infrastructure: Intersections between Postsocialist and Postcolonial Geographies, March 4-5, 2021

“Gender and Infrastructure: Intersections between Postsocialist and Postcolonial Geographies” investigates the relationship between gender, subjectivity and space, specifically the ways in which this is experienced and theorised in postsocialist and postcolonial contexts.

Jill Owczarzak and me will reflect on the arguments we put forth in 2009 in a special issue of the journal Focaal and ask how they continue to affect the ways in which the same arguments about how Eastern Europe is defined vis-à-vis the West.
